Fundamentals of Fairbairn Knife Fighting
The above diagram from Fairbairns book looks a bit gruesome to the casual observer but it shows the technicalities involved in the practical use of the Fairbairn Sykes Dagger, or any other sharp knife on the human anatomy. Most people look at this and remark "it would be safer to be shot than attacked by a skilled knife man". You would be right. A serious wound from a knife can result a far shorter survival than a 9mm bullet not hitting a vital organ.
